Medical care is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet the complex medical needs of all young people being cared for at Hannahs. This holistic approach promotes good health and wellbeing, which in turn enables the young person to participate as fully as possible in their education and recreational opportunities.
All of our nursing staff are qualified level 1 nurses and they are supported by consultants, general practitioners and include specialist paediatric (child branch) nurses. The nurses have specialist knowledge of epilepsy, gastrostomies, tracheostomies and complementary therapies. A weekly GP surgery is also available on site, providing an opportunity to review treatments and medication, while assessing on-going health needs. Individual care plans are developed, monitored and updated to ensure that each young person can access every opportunity available.
