Jenny Bond, former BBC Royal Correspondent, was guest speaker at the Hannahs Autumn Lunch recently. The fundraising event was held at Boringdon Golf Club and raised over £2,000 for Hannahs.
Organised by Hannahs Ivybridge Supporter Group, the lunch helped to raise funds for a new bus which will enable the young people at Hannahs Ivybridge to go on trips around Devon. The 150 guests were treated to a delicious lunch followed by a very entertaining talk by Jenny Bond about her life as a Royal Correspondent.
Hannahs Community Engagement Executive, Emily van Vliet, said “The Ivybridge Supporter Group once again organised a very classy and entertaining Autumn Lunch fundraiser for Hannahs last week. The ladies have worked tirelessly to organise this incredible fundraising event, amongst many during the year to support Hannahs. The ladies have played a huge part in raising over £27,000 so far towards a new bus for the children at Hannahs Ivybridge who have quite profound disabilities, so that they are able to get out and about and enjoy trips and days out in Devon. On behalf of everyone at Hannahs, a huge thank you to the group and to Jennie Bond who very kindly gave up her time for free to entertain the lunch guests at the event which raised over £2,000.”
