A group from Lifestyles, the South Hams based charity, were presented with certificates at Hannahs at Seale-Hayne this week. They have all successfully completed a six week “Introduction to Crafts for Business” course.
The course helped the group discover and develop skills in handmade crafts that can be made from home and sold in an increasingly competitive crafts movement. The course included air dried pottery and decoration, chutney and sweet making, labelling, wrapping and presentation of products, IT skills for marketing products. Hannahs resident artists, HANDS, met with the group and exchanged business ideas and models at the final presentation ceremony when the students displayed their wares.
Gail Tucker, Lifestyles’ Manager said, “Since our group took part in the Craft for Business Course at Seale-Hayne, we can’t stop them from creating things to sell! The course has been a joy from start to finish, with supportive, encouraging tutors, fantastic facilities and enthusiasm in abundance. Everyone had a sense of achievement and we hope to continue with other courses”.
