Luck of the Irish was the theme of last week’s Hannahwood Social Night at Hannahs in Ivybridge. Celebrating St Patrick’s Day, everyone dressed up in Irish costumes and enjoyed an evening of Irish music, dancing and games. Hannahwood Social nights take place every Tuesday evening 6-8pm and once a month there is a theme.
There was an Irish themed disco with green lighting and Irish music and an Irish photobooth with a giant leprechaun and beards for the young adults to wear. They designed their own non-alcoholic cocktails and gave them Irish names such as Blarney kiss, Leprechaun’s Gold, Fizzy Fergal.
Nearly 40 young people joined in the Irish fun and raised over £20. All of the money raised from these Adult Social Nights goes towards the new sensory room for the young adults in Hannahwood. The sensory room will help the young adults to express themselves in many different ways, through lighting, movement and music.
