Paralympians help launch Opportunity Club

Paralympians James Bevis (rifle shooting) and Adrian Bunclark (pistol shooting) were at Hannahs at Seale-Hayne recently to help launch the new Opportunity Club.

The Opportunity Club offers people of all abilities the chance to take part in a range of activities. Come along and try out activities including archery, boccia, air pistol target shooting and laser rifle shooting and make new friends.

Olympian Gorgs Geikie (pistol shooting), who is South Development Activator for British Shooting, was also at the launch. She has been working with Ziggy Grewal, Disability Sport Coordinator for Active Devon to set up the Opportunity Club at Seale-Hayne. Gorgs said “Part of my role is to introduce more people to shooting which is a totally inclusive sport and accessible to all. British Shooting and Disability Shooting Great Britain (DSGB) are thrilled to be working with Hannahs and Active Devon. Anyone can come to Hannahs at Seale-Hayne every Thursday to have a go at shooting Pistol and Laser Rifles. British Shooting and DSGB would also like to welcome local shooting clubs.”

The Opportunity Club is open to people aged 16+ and takes place every Thursday 2-4pm in the Sports Hall at Seale-Hayne. Each session costs £5 per person and includes all equipment and tuition. Booking is essential. For more information contact Chris Parish on 01626 325825 or
