Artist and sculptor Stefan Jennings spent last week at Hannahs at Seale-Hayne as artist in residence. He created a wonderful double-headed moose out of willow.
During the week Stefan welcomed people of all ages and abilities to help him including Hannahs guests and young adults from Hannahwood in Ivybridge. His residency was part of the Free Hands Project by the Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
Stefan said “I only recently discovered Seale-Hayne through my interest in the WW1 connection. I was keen to work in the beautiful grounds and create a community piece. I chose a fun and figurative subject which has fitted in with some of the personalities I have worked with. Seale-Hayne is a really positive place to work and I can sense how inclusive it is with a family based atmosphere”.
