Timber Strategies works with interesting people excited about the potential of forestry and timber. Key to their business is that innovation and contemporary ideas are introduced into the timber and forestry sectors. They provide advice and support to businesses, consortia and the public sector to add value to your timber whether it be growing, in the mill or in use with their expertise in timber product and supply-chain development. Jez Ralph, who has almost 20 years experience in the Sector, is the Director of Timber Strategies. With a degree in Archaeology and Geology and a spell with the British Antarctic Survey behind him, Jez went into forestry via an MSc in Forest Management at Aberdeen University. Since then he has worked with the Silvanus Trust and the Architectural Association at Hooke Park before setting up Timber Strategies. In 2010 Jez spent a summer at the Helsinki Wood Studio working on a design and build project with architects and engineers from around Europe and in 2012 he gained a Nuffield Farming Scholarship to undertake travel around the world looking at innovations in small-scale added-value timber processing.
