Jerwood Makers Open

Saturday 06 September 2014 - Sunday 19 October 2014 10:00am - 5:00pm The Gallery, Hannahs at Seale-Hayne

Jerwood Makers Open is a major showcase of new work by emerging artists, each of whom are given £7500 to create new work. Following an exhibition at the Jerwood Space in London, we were thrilled to welcome this distinguished collection on the first stop of a national tour. London-based artists Revital Cohen and Tuur Van Balen created a series of hand-craftedLED signs, while FleaFollyArchitects created a fictional universe using the themes and characters from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as a metaphor for our digital age. Other highlights included porcelain sculptures from Hitomi Hosono, glassworks from Shelley James and even a life-sized ceramic façade of a British pub by Matthew Raw.
