Who we are
The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust is a charity based in Ivybridge, Devon that has been providing services to enrich and empower the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children and adults for nearly 260 years. Founded in 1767 it is one of the oldest charities in the UK. The original school was for the poor and unfortunate children of Plymouth. In 1925 Dame Hannahs opened one of the UK's first orthopaedic schools/hospitals in Ivybridge and in 1958 we were the first to open a school for children with Cerebral Palsy at our current site in Ivybridge. Today we provide care and support for adults with profound disabilities and complex medical needs.
What we do
Our service is unique as we offer a holistic approach through our multidisciplinary team which is located on site. This means that we are able to provide 24 hour on-site specialist support which includes Care and Nursing, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and a specialist Eating and Drinking Team. Our highly trained and dedicated staff enable those we support to live more independently within our specially adapted accommodation while we provide the best care and opportunities on offer in a homely and caring environment. At Dame Hannahs we enable our young people to grow and develop with confidence and freedom and to live life to the full.

Over the last month we have seen the final days of summer come to a close but we have been fortunate to hold a variety of events here on site as well as attending those within the community. Each of these events have allowed us to further increase people'
August News
During the last month our fundraising team has been particularly busy at events raising both funds and awareness. It has been a busy month with lots of celebrations as well as a variety of summer outings and activities.
Quiz Night raises £400
Our summer Quiz Night proved to be a big success and raised a wonderful £400. It was lovely to see some quizzers from the local Ivybridge community as well as old friends.
Dame Hannahs cakes raise over £800 at Yealmpton Show
Dame Hannahs staff and volunteers ran a very successful cake stand at the Yealmpton Show and raised £843.50 for the charity. The stand is always popular with visitors and helped raise awareness of the wonderful work of Dame Hannahs.
Bingo Nights are big success
Our monthly Bingo Nights are proving very popular with the last one raising an amazing £739.50. It is great to see regulars from the local community each month as well as new faces.

Christmas Fayre
Come and join us at our Christmas Fayre where there will be a wide variety of stalls selling wonderful gifts and treats. Delicious food and refreshments will be available all day. It will be a great way to start the festive season!
