Antiques and Cream Teas raise funds for Dame Hannahs

Tuesday 19 March 2019

Dame Hannahs teamed up with Kitley House Hotel and Bonhams Auctioneers last week for a very popular fundraising event. The Antiques and Collectibles Valuations event was organised by Dame Hannahs Ivybridge Supporter Group and raised over £700 for the charity.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of antiques and collectibles valuations and cream teas in the elegant library at Kitley. They each took along three items to be valued by Charles Lanning and Sam Tuke from Bonhams who kindly gave up their afternoon to take part in the event. Hannah Lavell, a young adult from Hannahwood, gave a very informative and inspiring talk about her life at Dame Hannahs and helped with the raffle draw and presentation of prizes.

Mary Watts, Chair of Dame Hannahs Ivybridge Supporter Group, said “Thank you to everyone involved in another fabulous event at Kitley House Hotel particularly to the Kitley team for their generosity and in superbly hosting us once again and to Charles and Sam from Bonhams for generously supporting us by giving their time free of charge. It was fantastic that Hannah, one of our young adults at Hannahwood, was able to be with us. Her speech about her life at Hannahs and about making the most of life was so very powerful. She is an amazing example to us all. We were also delighted to see so many supporters at the event and to be able to share and celebrate the wonderful work of the Dame Hannahs family”
