Activities and Events Manager, Bex Marshall, has won the Putting People First Award at the Regional Great British Care Awards which is a fantastic achievement. She has now been shortlisted for the Finals at the National Care Awards next year.

Bex works in Adult Services at Dame Hannahs and is constantly thinking of new ideas and organising a wide variety of fun events for the young adults ranging from trips to the beach, National Trust properties, Bristol Science Museum or Plymouth Life Centre as well as quiz nights, karaoke nights and themed evenings in Hannahwood.

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Bex said “It was a lovely surprise to find out I had been nominated for the award, but to win I am just over the moon! It does feel really lovely to know that I have won as it means so much to have the recognition. I feel incredibly privileged to work with the young adults here in Hannahwood as they inspire me every day. Helping to make them happy and to live their best lives is, and always will be, my aspiration”.

Marc Chudley, Registered Manager in Adult Services at Dame Hannahs, said “I'd like to wish Bex Marshall huge congratulations for winning the Great British Care Awards regional award for 'Putting People First'/ Personalisation Award’. It is a massively deserved win for a member of our team who consistently goes above and beyond for the Young Adults. She will now be shortlisted for the national award, which I’d like to wish her all the best for”.
