Wednesday 22 February 2017

Hannahs School in Ivybridge was found to be a GOOD school, with outstanding personal development and welfare, at the recent Ofsted education inspection.

Our school works with children and young people from the age of 3-19 years who have a range of special needs including complex learning and health needs.

The inspector praised the “strong sense of community in the school which results in a staff team that works closely together to enable pupils to develop their skills well” and noted that “pupils’ joy in coming into school is tangible; they clearly enjoy all that goes on in school and have a very positive attitude to all the activities.”

Chris Freestone, Hannahs Head of Education, welcomed the report saying “We are extremely proud of the hard work and determination to succeed which our learners show every day. Staff have high expectations of their capacity to learn and they always rise to the challenge. This report is the result of staff, parents and governors working together with our children and young people to ensure the best possible outcomes for them across all aspects of their learning.“
