Tesco choose Hannahs

Thursday 02 November 2017

We are delighted to have been chosen as one of three charities in the Tesco Bags of Help Grant Scheme in our region. We put forward our Bikes for All project and we are thrilled to be have been successful in a truly great opportunity!
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores – being awarded to local community projects. Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated from carrier bag sales in Tesco store. The public will now vote in store during November and December on who should receive the awards.
Tesco customers will choose their charity every time they shop from now until Monday 1st January 2018.  They will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.
If we are fortunate enough to be in First Place we will receive up to £4,000 which will allow us to fund a wheelchair bike that will enable even the most profoundly physically disabled young person to experience the joy and freedom of being on a bike. This will be of great benefit to our young people at Hannahs Ivybridge.
So please place your votes next time you are in Tesco’s and every time you shop there until New Year’s Day.
