As winter approaches, people need look no further than Hannahs for their logs. The charity is selling logs as part of their social enterprise at Seale-Hayne.

The log enterprise is run by Hannahs staff who are closely assisted by guests with disabilities and volunteers. From splitting the logs to packing them in nets to delivering them to customers, Hannahs guests and volunteers are involved every step of the way. The log enterprise started when the Hannahs Land Team were working for Historic England at Milber Hill Fort. They cleared trees such as oak and beech and were allowed to keep the logs.

Hannahs Head of Social Enterprise, Nigel Cotterill, said “The log enterprise gives guests a sense of worth as they can contribute towards the income for Hannahs. They are also working as part of a team and are able to enjoy the camaraderie”.

Log prices: £70 per cubic metre delivery / £3 per net or £10 for 4 nets
