New Headteacher

Monday 24 September 2018

We are delighted to welcome Jason Ryder, the new Headteacher at Dame Hannahs in Ivybridge. Jason comes with 25 years of experience in mainstream schools.

Jason has worked at Plymstock School and Plympton and Lipson Academies as English Teacher, Head of Department and most recently Senior Leader. He also has extensive experience in safeguarding and was a lead reviewer for Challenge Partners, an organisation which enables collaboration between schools to enhance the life chances of all children in an ever changing world.

He has known about Dame Hannahs for a while as he was Chairman of the Plymouth Sound Charitable Trust for ten years and was involved in funding the original sensory room at the Hannahs Ivybridge. He has also been involved in voluntary work with disabled children for several years.

Jason lives in Moorhaven with his wife and his two daughters. He is a very keen and experienced cook and also plays the guitar and sings.

“I am very excited and privileged to be taking on the leadership of the educational provision at Dame Hannah Rogers. I look forward to working with the other aspects of this fantastic charity for the benefit of the many young people and adults who have their lives enriched by Hannahs”
