Who we are
The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust is a charity based in Ivybridge, Devon that has been providing services to enrich and empower the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children and adults for nearly 260 years. Founded in 1767 it is one of the oldest charities in the UK. The original school was for the poor and unfortunate children of Plymouth. In 1925 Dame Hannahs opened one of the UK's first orthopaedic schools/hospitals in Ivybridge and in 1958 we were the first to open a school for children with Cerebral Palsy at our current site in Ivybridge. Today we provide care and support for adults with profound disabilities and complex medical needs.
What we do
Our service is unique as we offer a holistic approach through our multidisciplinary team which is located on site. This means that we are able to provide 24 hour on-site specialist support which includes Care and Nursing, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and a specialist Eating and Drinking Team. Our highly trained and dedicated staff enable those we support to live more independently within our specially adapted accommodation while we provide the best care and opportunities on offer in a homely and caring environment. At Dame Hannahs we enable our young people to grow and develop with confidence and freedom and to live life to the full.

Welcome to the latest edition of Dame Hannahs News. We are delighted to be able to share our news and developments with you. Over the last few months we have welcomed several new adults to both our bungalows and Day Services.
Speech and Language Team welcome student Luke
Marjon's student Luke is doing a 10-week placement at Dame Hannahs with the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team. He is in the final year of his degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
November News
As the festive season approaches we have already started getting ready and were delighted with the success of our Christmas Fayre. Everyone had fun celebrating Halloween and our adults have been enjoying a wide range of activities.
Christmas Fayre raises over £2,200
Our Christmas Fayre took place in Ivybridge last weekend and raised £2,267. Hundreds of visitors flocked to Dame Hannahs and enjoyed some early Christmas shopping and festive refreshments.
Tugboats and Dolphins raise over £12,300
Tugboats and Dolphins CIC, a group of fundraisers, have raised an amazing £12,300 for Dame Hannahs. They have been fundraising all year and recently visited our adults to present their very generous cheque.
