Local supporter Dan to run for Dame Hannahs
Tuesday 08 March 2022
Local Dame Hannahs supporter Dan Westlake is running his first ever marathon in aid of the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust. Based in Plymouth, Dan will be taking part in the Plym Valley Marathon on 7th May.
In 2019 Dan ran his first 10K for charity and the training really inspired him to focus more on running. He then joined the STORM Plymouth Running Club. Dan was first introduced to the charity by his father Richard who was a volunteer at Dame Hannahs.
Of his latest challenge, Dan said “Having trained with STORM Plymouth running club for a couple of years I was looking for a new challenge. With so many charities struggling in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic, I have chosen Dame Hannahs to be my charity to run for because they are a great local charity. I have had a tour of Dame Hannahs before and got to witness a small percentage of the amazing work this incredible charity does on a day to day basis”.
Dame Hannahs Community Engagement Officer, Debbie Lumsdon, said “We are so appreciative of Dan for supporting Dame Hannahs once more; it is Dan’s first full marathon so we all wish him well. I hope that Dan will inspire others to run for Dame Hannahs in the future”.
