Visually Impaired Skydiver jumps for Hannahs

A brave group from SeeAbility in Exeter took part in a sky dive and raised over £1,000 for Hannahs. They visited Hannahs at Seale-Hayne recently to present their very generous cheque.

Luke Manwaring, who is visually impaired, was joined by SeeAbility staff members for the sky dive at Dunkeswell Airfield. SeeAbility is a 200-year-old registered UK charity that supports people with sight loss and multiple disabilities, including learning and physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, acquired brain injury and life-limiting conditions. People from SeeAbility regularly visit Seale-Hayne to take part in activities and use the facilities.

Hannahs are looking for people to take on other challenges to raise money for the charity. Brave fundraisers can now sign up to Hannahs Great Wing Walk which is the ultimate fundraising event. There are spaces for five very special fundraisers this year. This unique event will take place at Bodmin Airfield in Cornwall on 4th and 5th July 2018. Each Wing Walker will be asked to pledge and raise a minimum of £2,000 for Hannahs. The Boeing Stearman used for this once in a lifetime opportunity event is owned and flown by an experienced wing walking pilot, Mike Dentith who has worked with celebrity wing walkers such as Philip Schofield.

Karen Walter of SeeAbility said “We were all really nervous about taking part in the sky dive but now that we have jumped out of a plane we are ready for our next challenge! We have now signed up for Hannahs Great Wing Walk!”
