Old Seale-Haynian wins Summer Draw

Gill was a student at Seale-Hayne in the 1970s when it was an agricultural college and now lives in Hampshire. As a supporter of the work of Hannahs at Seale-Hayne she bought some draw tickets in the post. Fortuitously Gill was in Devon when she received the call about her win so was able to pick up her prize.

About once a year Gill visits Seale-Hayne and takes a trip down memory lane having spent some of her happiest years there. She met her husband when they were both students there and they started up their own business when they left the agricultural college. Their business, Acorn Agricultural Services, was a contracting business involving a low ground pressure vehicle which could work the land in wet weather and was designed by Gill’s husband Bob Perkins.

More recently she has worked for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust firstly as Conservation Manager and now as CEO. Her work takes her to Devon as she works with the Duchy of Cornwall and recently joined a Trust conservation and science team field trip.

Of her win Gill said “I believe in the Virtuous Circle. I had a really happy time as a student at Seale-Hayne. Then Hannahs took over the site which I felt was a blessing and now I have won first prize in their Summer Draw”.
