Able takes on new challenges for Hannahs
Thursday 02 August 2018
Daredevil Able Sharp recently took part in a skydive and raised over £2,000 for Hannahs. This was a particularly amazing achievement as Able has a range of disabilities since contracting meningitis as a baby.
21 year old Able recently completed his Pathway to Employment course with The Key at Hannahs at Seale-Hayne. He is always looking for a new challenge and is a keen fundraiser. Able took part in a tandem skydive, jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet, which was organised by Sky Buzz at Dunkeswell Airfield in East Devon. Able said “I didn’t know what to expect and it was a very strange feeling falling through the sky. But I want to do more skydives!”
On September 3rd Able will be taking on a new challenge using a BOMA 7 all-terrain wheelchair. He will be travelling from Hannahs Ivybridge to Tavistock accompanied by his support worker Sebastian Thompson on a road bike. This challenge is a warm up for a series of marathons they have planned for 2019. To support Able and Sebastian click here
Daniel Burke, Head of Fundraising, said “Everyone at Hannahs is extremely thankful for all of the time, effort and fundraising which Able has put in to making all of his challenges so successful. Able is a true ambassador for Hannahs and his engagement with the wider community has been inspiring”.
